The real cost of a power event

Most operators know a power event stops production. Fewer count what else it takes with it.

On a mine or processing plant, a voltage dip lasting a fraction of a second can trip every variable speed drive on site. Mills, crushers, pumps and fans drop out together, and what looked like a blip on the bus becomes hours of controlled restart. The production is the visible cost. The rest arrives later.

The Power4 UPS-BESS sits on the critical-load bus and takes over instantly when supply drops. It carries the load through the transient, smooths the bus so drives never see the disturbance, and holds while generators sync and come online cleanly.

It is the control centre for your site's power, not just a battery. The difference between a momentary blip and hours of restart with damaged equipment behind it.

On a grid-connected site it rides through the dips and outages the network sends you. On an off-grid site it bridges the transitions generators cannot cover fast enough on their own. Either way, it works every time, in the background.

The job of the system is not to ride out long outages on its own. It is to bridge the transition between power sources without the load ever knowing.

Grid dip or outage

The most common event on a grid-connected site. The system carries the load through the dip, or holds it while on-site generation takes over. The plant never knows it happened.

Genset trip or changeover

The system carries the full critical load while the remaining units absorb load, or the backup black-starts and syncs. Comfortable margin behind it if the diesel does not catch first attempt.

Voltage and frequency transients

During normal operation the PCS smooths the bus continuously. Drives never see the disturbance. This is constant background protection, not a one-off.

Planned maintenance and reserve duty

Generation can be cycled out for service while the system carries the site. And with instant reserve sitting on the bus, gensets stop idling as insurance.

Sizing is a design conversation for each site. A grid-connected concentrator is sized differently to an off-grid operation running on gensets. Our local representatives work through the topology, the critical-load profile and the ride-through tolerance with you before anything is quoted.
